Tarique Rahman mourns death of Hamidul Haque

DHAKA, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hamidul Haque Mohan, the founding president of the Tangail District unit of the party.

In a condolence message, Tarique Rahman said, "Hamidul Haque Mohan was a patriotic politician and a respected leader in his locality. He was devoted to the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and upheld the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism throughout his political life."

He added that Mohan had actively participated in all democratic movements and struggles under the leadership of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and was held in high regard by party leaders and activists alike.

"He was an extremely generous, humble and gentlemanly person. I am deeply saddened by his passing," he said.

Hamidul Haque Mohan passed away yesterday while undergoing treatment at Tangail Sadar Hospital.
