Four drug traffickers with 10,000 yaba pills arrested in city

DHAKA, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Gulshan Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested four suspected drug traffickers with 10,000 yaba tablets and a microbus from the Kaptanbazar area of the capital.

The arrestees were identified as Md Ziaul Haque (38), Md Abdullah (30), Md Faisal (24) and Md Shahjahan (25), according to a DMP press release issued today.

On information, a DB team conducted a late-night raid around 11:45pm yesterday on the pavement in front of Kaptanbazar Complex-2 in the Nawabpur area. During the operation, police intercepted a microbus suspected of carrying drugs, searched it and recovered the yaba tablets from the suspects' possession.

The DMP said that intelligence reports had indicated that a group of drug traffickers was bringing illegal drugs into the city. 

Following the arrest, legal proceedings are currently underway against the four individuals.
