DHAKA, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court led by an executive magistrate attached to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division today conducted drives in areas under Titas Gas's Metro Dhaka Sales Division-1 to ensure energy security and prevent illegal gas use.

The court operated in four locations, including Sanarpar in Narayanganj and Nayakata Bridge, Mohakash Road, and Katherpul in Dhaka's Demra area, identifying and disconnecting illegal gas connections, according to a PID handout.

Two washing plants -- SK Washing in Sanarpar and Muslim Denim in Nayakata -- were found using illegal gas connections.

Both connections were permanently cut off and fines of Tk 1 lakh each were imposed.

The operation saved approximately 1,500 cubic feet of gas. Authorities also removed 215 feet of illegal pipelines (GI, plastic, and quarter pipe), one burner, one single stove, a compressor and a booster.
