Gazipur gets new police commissioner

DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) – The government has appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Industrial Police Md Israil Hawlader as the commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

“The order issued for public interest will come into effect immediately,” according to the home ministry notification issued here today.

The home affairs ministry issued a notification in this regard signed by deputy secretary Abu Sayeed.

Earlier, the government temporarily suspended GMP commissioner Dr Md Nazmul Karim Khan on November 10, 2025.
