CUMILLA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said conspiracies are going on for delay or foiling the upcoming national elections, so all should stay alert against it.

“The people of Bangladesh have long been deprived of voting rights. They are now eagerly waiting to exercise their voting right,” he told a rally prior to a mass procession at the Shaheed Rifat Park area in Daudkandi upazila.
Mosharraf, BNP nominee for the upcoming national election from Cumilla-1 (Daudkandi–Meghna) constituency, said the government that will be formed through the next national election will be a people’s government, and whoever elected as MP will be a people’s representative.

Criticising the PR (proportional representation) system, he said those who would become MPs through PR would represent the party, not the people.

He also said that various conspiracies are underway to disrupt or delay the election on some excuses including PR system. He urged everyone to be prepared and organize the party accordingly to counter any such plot.

He said the government has already announced its decision to hold the national election and the referendum on the same day.
The mass procession began from Shaheed Rifat Park, paraded through the Dhaka–Chattogram highway in the municipality area, and gathered at the Bishwa road Eidgah ground. The entire route was filled with banners, festoons, and slogans of party activists and local residents.

Cumilla North District unit of BNP Senior Joint Convener Abul Hashem Sarkar, Upazila BNP Convener M.A. Latif Bhuiyan, Joint Convener Jasim Uddin, and Municipal BNP Senior Joint Convener Sowgat Chowdhury Peter, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Daudkandi Municipal BNP Convener Nur Mohammad Selim chaired the rally while Upazila BNP Member Secretary VP Jahangir Alam and Municipal BNP Member Secretary Kawsar Alam Sarkar conducted it.

Thousands of leaders, workers, and supporters from 15 unions of Daudkandi and nine wards of the municipality participated in the gathering.
