SYLHET, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) - The election to the Shahjalal University Central Students' Union (SUCSU) and Hall Union-2025 of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology will be held on December 17 next.
The SUCSU Election Commission announced the schedule today, confirming the polling date. Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Abul Mukit Mohammad Mokaddes declared the timetable at 4.30pm today.
As per the schedule, the draft voter list will be published on November 20, with objections accepted on November 22.
The final voter list will be published on November 23.
Distribution of nomination papers will begin on November 24, while submission of nominations will start on November 25.
The last date for submitting nomination papers is November 26.
Scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 27, followed by the publication of the preliminary candidate list on November 28. The deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is November 30.
Appeals and their disposal have been scheduled for December 1, and the final list of candidates will be published on December 2.
Polling will take place on December 17 from 9 am to 4 pm.
Professor Mokaddes said votes will be counted using the OMR method and the counting process will be displayed live on LED screens.
