Former Barguna MP Matiar Rahman passes away

BARGUNA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - Former lawmaker of Barguna-3 (Barguna-Amtali-Taltali) constituency and member of the BNP National Executive Committee Matiar Rahman Talukder passed away on Monday evening at Ever Care Hospital in Dhaka.

He was 78 and had been suffering from age-related complications.

Matiar Rahman, also former Zila Parishad chairman and general secretary of the district BNP, is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

BNP Central Committee Vice Chairman and former MP from Barguna-2 constituency Nurul Islam Moni, Barguna district BNP convener Nazrul Islam Mollah expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Matiar Rahman.
