DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) – A World Bank (WB) delegation led by Jean-Denis Pesme, Country Director of World Bank’s Dhaka Regional Office met with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today at the party chief’s office at Bashundhara in Dhaka. 

The delegation also includes Mehreen A Mahbub, Senior Economist and MS Gaëlle Martin, Operations Manager.

Dr Rahman was joined by economist Dr Mizanur Rahman, former senior secretary Muhammad Sofiullah, and Jamaat’s adviser on foreign affairs Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan.

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on the reform and development of Bangladesh’s financial sector infrastructure, sustainable economic pathways, taxation issues and various matters concerning the country’s social sectors.
