DMP files 1,744 cases against traffic rules violators

DHAKA, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 1,744 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital over the past day.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the drive is part of DMP's ongoing campaigns to bring the city's traffic system under proper management. The statement was issued by the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division here today.

According to the statement, 413 motor vehicles were impounded and 105 vehicles were immobilized during the campaign against traffic rule violations on November 18.

The drive was conducted by several traffic divisions across the capital. Motijheel Traffic Division filed 332 cases, Wari Division 151 cases, Tejgaon Division 228 cases, Mirpur Division 178 cases, Gulshan Division 292 cases, Uttara Division 240 cases, Ramna Division 234 cases, and Lalbagh Division 189 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.

The DMP information added that the campaign will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
