Milestone tragedy: burned Aryan discharged after 122 days of treatment

DHAKA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has discharged Aryan Afif, who was burned in the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, after 122 days of treatment. 


Acting Director of the institute Professor Dr Nasir Uddin revealed the information at a press conference on today.


Dr. Nasir Uddin said the entire unit including doctors, nurses and support staff worked day and night to recover Aryan. In the future, his regular follow-up will continue and all necessary medical support will be provided by the institute, he added. 


He said capable people of the society need to come forward for Aryan's long-term rehabilitation. 


Doctors said that Aryan had to undergo 34 surgeries in 122 days. He was admitted to the hospital on July 21 with about 40 percent burns. Out of these, he had to be taken to the ICU eight times and was on life support for three days.
