Port worker dies, 4 injured as car plunges off Chattogram expressway

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - A port employee died and four others were 
injured after a private car skidded off the expressway in the Nimtala area 
under Bandar Thana this afternoon.

Sirajul Islam, OC (Investigation) of Bandar Police Station, told BSS that the 
car, heading from Patenga toward the city, suddenly lost control and fell 
from the expressway.

Pedestrian Shafiq, 55, sustained critical injuries and later died at the 
hospital. He was identified as a port employee.

Four others were also seriously injured in the crash. They were rescued and 
taken to Islami Bank Hospital in Agrabad for treatment.
