Khaleda Zia repeatedly risked her life to restore democracy: Dulu

LALMONIRHAT, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP central executive committee organizing secretary and former deputy minister Principal Asadul Habib Dulu today said party Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has repeatedly risked her life in the struggle to restore democracy in the country.

Dulu made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a voluntary land-filling programme held at the MT Hossen Institute ground in ward no. 7, Babupara area of Lalmonirhat pourashava at noon.

He said people across the country, regardless of political views, religion, caste or creed are praying for Begum Khaleda Zia's well-being. Her dedication and sacrifices over a long political career continue to inspire citizens in the ongoing movement to safeguard democracy, he added.

Speaking about the upcoming national elections, Dulu announced that he will contest from the Lalmonirhat Sadar-3 constituency as the BNP candidate. He pledged to work sincerely to address all local issues if elected.

District BNP leaders including joint general secretary AKM Mominul Huq, assistant joint general secretary ABM Faruque Siddiqui, organizing secretary and poura BNP president Afzal Hossain, general secretary Abdus Salam and leaders of the district Mohila Dal and various social and cultural organizations were also present at the programme.
