DMP files 1,853 cases for traffic rules violation

DHAKA, Dec 03, 2025 (BSS) – The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,853 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital during the last one day.

The DMP has been conducting campaign against traffic rules violations in the city aimed at bring traffic system under proper management, according to DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division statement.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the statement here today.

It said that 426 motor vehicles were dumped and 211 vehicles were wrecked during the drive on December 2.

During the drive, Motijheel traffic division filed 272 cases, Wari division registered 197 cases, Tejgaon division filed 224 cases, Mirpur division filed 336 cases, Gulshan division filed 351 cases, Uttara division registered 232 cases, Ramna division filed 92 cases and Lalbagh division registered 149 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
