9 rescued alive through 999 services after bus–truck collision

DHAKA, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) – Nine passengers were rescued alive after a speedy Dhaka-bound bus collided with a truck near the Arialkhan Bridge under Bhanga Police Station on the Dhaka–Bhanga Expressway in Faridpur district on Tuesday afternoon.

According to National Emergency Service 999, a caller reported that the passenger bus, travelling from Dhaka toward Nazirpur in Pirojpur, had rammed into the rear of a truck, leaving the front section of the bus severely twisted and several passengers trapped inside.

Constable Abdullah Al Mamun of 999 received the distress call and immediately alerted Bhanga Fire Service Station and Bhanga Highway Police Station.

Fire dispatcher Fighter Mehedi Hasan coordinated the rescue efforts.

Responding promptly, teams from Bhanga Fire Service and Bhanga Highway Police arrived at the scene and extricated nine injured passengers from the wreckage.

All of them were transported to Faridpur District Hospital for treatment.

Tragically, three passengers died on the spot as a result of the crash.

Police have confirmed that a case has been filed with Bhanga Highway Police Station regarding the incident.
