DHAKA, Dec 09, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today ordered the freezing of six bank accounts belonging to former lawmaker of Netrokona-3 constituency, Ashim Kumar Ukil.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court's vacation bench judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun passed the order following a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition, Ashim Kumar Ukil had been attempting to transfer, withdraw or otherwise dispose of funds from the said bank accounts.

The ACC stated that if the assets were transferred or siphoned off, recovering the money later would become extremely difficult. So, it is necessary to freeze the said accounts immediately to prevent withdrawal or disposal of the funds.
