KHULNA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) – Khulna BNP today brought out a procession and held a rally in the city protesting the assassination attack on Inqilab Mancha Convener and independent parliamentary candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency Sharif Osman Hadi and BNP nominee from Chattogram-8 Ershad Ullah.

Khulna city and district BNP units jointly organized the event as part of the centrally announced programme in the afternoon.

Earlier, a protest rally was held at the party office on KDA Avenue. BNP former organising secretary and BNP candidate for Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Manju attended the rally as the chief guest.

Among others, BNP Student Affairs Secretary and BNP candidate for Khulna-3 Rakibul Islam Bakul, Information Affairs Secretary and BNP candidate for Khulna-4 Azizul Bari Helal, former convener of the district unit and BNP candidate for Khulna-1 Amir Ejaz Khan, women leader SyedaNargis Ali and Jafarullah Khan Sachchu addressed the rally, among others.

Khulna city BNP Organising Secretary Sheikh Sadi presided over the rally.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers said the recent attacks are part of a conspiracy to foil the upcoming national election, alleging that both domestic and international forces are behind the plot.

They called upon BNP leaders and activists to remain united to resist all sorts of conspiracies.

The speakers demanded that the attackers be brought to justice swiftly and awarded the maximum punishment.

Noting that the incidents were not isolated, they said the attacks occurred just a day after the election schedule was announced.

The perpetrators launched the attacks on the two potential parliamentary candidates to foil the upcoming general election, they said.

“We want to demonstrate unity. A national unity against fascism and terrorism will be our greatest strength, through which we can resist such national crisis,” the speakers said.

After the rally, a procession was brought out on different city streets and ended at Dakbangla Intersection.
