Blood donation, tree plantation programme at BMU on Victory Day

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) today organised a voluntary blood donation, free blood grouping and tree plantation programmes on the occasion of the Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day.

The programme was held at the BMU’s Department of Transfusion Medicine. Besides, under the initiative of the Director (Hospital) Office, saplings of neem, lemon, jackfruit and other fruit-bearing, forest and medicinal plants were planted at the BMU TSC premises, said a press release.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Hawlader, Treasurer Professor Dr. Nahreen Akhtar, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine Dr. Ayesha Khatun, Director (Hospital) Brig. Gen. Irtika Rahman, Additional Director (Super Specialised Hospital) Dr Md Shahidul Hasan, Deputy Director (Hospital) Dr Md Abu Naser, Dr Nahid Sultana of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Deputy Registrar Md Yahia Khan and officer Md Ilias Khan were present at the programme.
