Public notice of election, referendum schedule issued in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - In light of the Election Commission (EC)'s 
notification, the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and the referendum on the 
implementation of the 'July Charter' will be held on February 12 (Thursday), 
2026. 
 
In light of the EC's notification, the election schedule and detailed 
instructions for the six parliamentary constituencies of Rangpur have been 
issued in a public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer 
Mohammad Enamul Ahsan. 
 
The declared constituencies are: Rangpur-1 (Gangachara-City Corporation Ward 
1-9), Rangpur-2 (Taraganj-Badarganj), Rangpur-3 (Rangpur Sadar-Cantonment 
Board-City Corporation Ward 9-33), Rangpur-4 (Kawnia-Pirgachha), Rangpur-5 
(Mithapukur) and Rangpur-6 (Pirganj). 
 
As per the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers to the 
Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer (respective Upazila Nirbahi 
Officer) has been fixed for December 29, 2025. 
 
The nomination paper scrutiny process will be held from December 30, 2025 to 
January 4, 2026. 
 
An appeal against the decision of the Returning Officer can be filed from 
January 5 to January 11, 2026. 
 
The appeal will be disposed of from January 12 to January 18, 2026. 
 
As per the announced schedule, the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 
January 20, 2026 and the election symbol allocation will be on January 21, 
2026. 
 
The notification specifically mentions that voting will be held in 
transparent ballot boxes through ballot papers continuously from 7:30 am to 
4:30 pm on February 12, 2026. 
 
For the convenience of voters, white ballot papers will be used for the 
Jatiya Sangsad elections and pink ballot papers for the referendum. 
 
The public notification further mentions that candidates wishing to 
participate in the parliamentary elections from the mentioned constituencies 
can collect and submit their nomination papers to the Rangpur Deputy 
Commissioner's Office and the concerned Assistant Returning Officer's Office 
on December 29, 2025 or any previous working day from 9 am to 5 pm.
