DHAKA, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and the ministry's secretary Mahbuba Farzana today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Additional Principal Information Officer (PIO) Munshi Jalal Uddin.

In a joint condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members, said an official handout here today.

"Munshi Jalal Uddin was an honest, sincere and efficient officer. He played an important role in development of BCS (information) cadre. He was well known as a charismatic officer in the civil service," said the message.

His death is an irreparable loss for the information service, it added.

Munshi Jalal Uddin passed away this evening while undergoing treatment at a city hospital.
