DHAKA, Jan 09, 2026 (BSS)- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has undertaken initiative for beautification of the open space under the Dhaka Elevated Expressway.

Talking to reporters at the site the beautification site at Uttara today DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz said plantation, gardening and seating arrangement for travelers and pedestrians will be done under the project.

He said DNCC has formed a five-member committee to take over the unused vacant space from the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has already been signed between Bangladesh Bridge Authority and the DNCC to execute the project.

Under the agreement the DNCC will implement greening, landscaping, pedestrian-friendly infrastructure and public recreation space in the unused areas under the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. 

DNCC’s initiative will help create vibrant public spaces, improve environment and bring aesthetic changes in the lives of citizens, the administrator said.
