
BHOLA, Jan 24, 2026 (BSS) - BNP alliance candidate and Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha formally began his election campaign in Bhola on Saturday ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary elections.
Partha arrived at Bhola Sadar Kheyaghat from Dhaka via Barishal by speedboat around 11:30 am. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by thousands of BNP and BJP leaders and activists from across the district, with flowers.
Following his arrival, a massive procession was brought out from Kheyaghat area. The procession marched through the town’s key roads and concluded in front of the district BJP office at Notunbazar around 3:15 pm.
Addressing a rally in front of the district party office, Barrister Partha said BNP and BJP share a long-standing cordial relationship in Bhola. “BNP and BJP are brothers in Bhola. There is no alternative to this unity,” he said.
He also said that courageous leadership is essential to establish people’s rights and restore democracy, adding that he had previously shown the courage to speak out directly against Sheikh Hasina during what he termed a fascist era.
Partha further said that the people of Bhola -- would elect and send to parliament the candidate – who will work for the welfare of the people. He sought public cooperation in implementing Bhola’s demands and called on all to work together to establish good governance and restore democracy.
Bhola District BJP President Amirul Islam Ratan, General Secretary Motasim Billah, along with a large number of leaders and activists from BNP and BJP, were present at the rally.
The procession was filled with slogans in favor of the cow cart, the election symbol of the BJP.
After concluding his speech there, Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha went to his residence at Shantanir in Ukil Para of the town at 4:45 pm.
