UAE distributes winter relief to Korail fire victims

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has provided winter relief to 1,500 families affected by the devastating fire at Korail Slum, reaffirming its humanitarian support for vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.

The relief distribution was organised by the UAE Embassy in Dhaka under a winter campaign led by UAE Foreign Aid Coordination Director Rashed Mohammed Naser Almail Alzaabi, in coordination with the Emirates Red Crescent recently, said a press release here today. 

The programme was held at the Banani Model School field, where affected families received essential winter items to help them cope with ongoing hardship following the fire incident.

“The UAE stands beside communities affected by crisis. This winter relief initiative reflects our continued humanitarian support in Bangladesh, and more such initiatives will take place in the future,” Alzaabi said.

The initiative underscored the UAE Government’s continued commitment to humanitarian assistance and solidarity with crisis-affected communities in Bangladesh.
