DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has strongly condemned and protested the attack on Nasiruddin Patwary, the 11-party alliance-nominated candidate for Dhaka-8, during his election campaign.

In a joint statement, AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju and General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad today demanded the immediate identification of the attackers and exemplary punishment under the law.

The AB Party described the incident as a direct assault on democratic politics and a calculated attempt to push the election towards violence.

According to reports, around 12:00 pm on Tuesday, while Patwary was holding a peaceful campaign event in front of Habibullah College, an unruly group launched a sudden attack, throwing rotten eggs and bricks at him.

The party also reaffirmed its commitment to continue the 11-party alliance's movement to safeguard citizens' voting rights and uphold democracy, undeterred by threats or violence.
