DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - Ganosamhati Andolon candidate for the Dhaka-12 constituency, Taslima Akhter, expressed her determination to develop Dhaka-12 into a national example of transparency and accountability.

Speaking during her election campaign across various areas of the constituency, Taslima said a 12-point election manifesto has been unveiled to provide a clear roadmap for tackling key challenges. 

She also announced plans to establish a 'Citizen Council' to ensure public representatives remain accountable to voters.

"The accountability of public representatives can only be guaranteed through the active participation and vigilance of the people," she said.

Taslima further criticized most political parties for failing to nominate adequate numbers of women candidates in line with the July Charter. She said Ganosamhati Andolon has set an example by nominating women candidates at a higher rate.
