Jamaat Ameer to address two rallies in Faridpur tomorrow

FARIDPUR, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will address two election rallies in Faridpur tomorrow, ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will first speak at the Boalmari Stadium in Faridpur-1 (Boalmari, Madhukhali, Alfadanga) in the evening following a rally in Narail. 

Later, he will address another rally at Rajendra College ground in Faridpur-3 (Sadar) at 8:00pm as the chief guest, said party leaders at a press conference today at the Faridpur district Jamaat office near Chawk Bazar Jame Mosque. 

Rally committee convener Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed said extensive preparations have been made to ensure smooth programmes, and the visit has generated excitement among party activists and 11-party alliance supporters.

Faridpur district Jamaat Secretary Prof. Abdul Wahab said volunteer teams and law enforcement will maintain security during the rallies. 

Jamaat district Ameer Maulana Badruddin noted that the visit raises local expectations for a divisional status for Faridpur, establishment of a full-fledged university, a cantonment, and modernization of Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Leaders of the Faridpur district Jamaat, along with Faridpur Press Club General Secretary Mahabub Hossain Pial and journalists from print and electronic media, attended the briefing.
