FENI, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - AB Party Chairman and Feni-2 constituency candidate Mujibur Rahman Manju, today demanded ensuring equal opportunity or a level playing field in the election.

He also demanded taking immediate steps to ensure a fair electoral environment, recover illegal weapons, and take action against those involved in threatening voters and vandalising election offices, said a press release.

He made these remarks while speaking to journalists after meeting with the Superintendent of Police in Feni.

Manju said several of their election offices were vandalised at different locations late Wednesday night.

"Banners were torn down and billboards removed. Threats are being issued in various areas. An incident of vandalism occurred at an election office in Motbir Ijjatpur," he said.

Although these incidents may appear minor, he said they could lead to more serious situations, which is why the matter was brought to the attention of the Superintendent of Police.

He said an environment conducive to fair elections cannot exist when intimidation is created by vandalising two or four election offices.

Manju said if a fair election is held, the people will respond through the ballot. Referring to assurances from the administration, he said they are patiently observing the situation.

Earlier, he paid a courtesy visit to Feni Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sultana Nasrin Kanta. In the morning, he also carried out election campaigning in Bhor Bazar and KM Hat Bazar in Farhadnagar Union of Sadar Upazila.

During the campaign, Manju told voters that no real change has been seen in politics for a long time. "Even when governments change, the suffering of ordinary people does not decrease-extortion, drugs, theft, and robbery still persist," he added.

For meaningful change in the country, he called upon voters to cast their votes for the Eagle symbol and to say "Yes" in the referendum.

During the meeting with SP, Feni District Jamaat-e-Islami Publicity Secretary Anam Abdur Rahim and AB Party Feni District Member Secretary Fazlul Haque were present.

During the campaign, NCP Central Joint Member Secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat, southern region organiser Azizur Rahman Rizvi, district member secretary Shah Wali Ullah Manik, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Shihab Uddin, and City Chhatra Shibir Secretary Shafiqul Islam were also present.
