DHAKA, Feb 06, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee Member and candidate of Paddy Sheaf in Dhaka-8 constituency Mirza Abbas today said voters will give their response to falsehoods and misconduct through their votes on 12 February.
He said, "I believe the people are very aware. They understand well who will be useful for the work of the area. Whether I win or not, I am with the people of the area. I am a son of this area. My parents and ancestors were buried here."
Mirza Abbas said this to journalists during a public meeting after Juma prayers at the West Shantibag Jame Mosque.
"I have lived a life on politics. I always stood by the people of the area despite many odds. I can challenge and say that no one was harmed by me. Rather, you will not find a single person who came to me and left in empty-hand."
He added, "I do not criticize anyone. Character assassination should not be a political culture. Therefore, I say instead of engaging in mudslinging against others, ask for votes from the people by telling them what you have done for the residents in the past and what you will do in the future. Make the election festive, not tainted."
