Massive rally held in support of Dr Abdul Mannan in Dhaka-6

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - A huge rally was organised in Dhaka-6 constituency 
today in support of Dr Abdul Mannan, the 11-party alliance-backed candidate 
nominated by Jamaat-e-Islami with the "Daripalla" symbol.

The procession led by Dr Mannan started from Ittefaq intersection and paraded 
through various city streets including Tikatuli, Dayaganj, Sutrapur, 
Banglabazar, Jagannath University, Ray Shaheb Bazar, Nawabpur Road and Kaptan 
Bazar before ending in front of Bangladesh Homeopathic College.

Addressing the rally as the chief guest, Dr Mannan said, "The people of 
Dhaka-6 will reply through ballots on February 12." 

Dr Mannan said the people of Dhaka-6 do not support drugs, extortion or 
terrorism, and will write a new history on February 12 against such 
practices. 

He pledged that if elected, he would make Dhaka-6 a safe and livable 
humanitarian city that is free from drugs, terrorism and extortion while 
addressing the area's basic problems.
 
He also vowed to modernize Old Dhaka under the slogan "No more neglect, Old 
Dhaka will be modern".

Jamaat leaders along with local leaders of the alliance, were present at the 
rally. 

The rally, joined by large numbers of local residents and activists, created 
significant enthusiasm in the area.
