CUMILLA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and newly elected Member of Parliament from Cumilla-6 (Sadar) constituency Monirul Haque Chowdhury has pledged to transform Cumilla into a livable city in line with his election manifesto.

He made the announcement at his residence in Cumilla on Friday night.

Monirul Haque said that implementation of his development plans began immediately after the election. “My development plan and work have started from the day after the election. I will not sit idle even for a single day. I will continue working for change,” he said.

The newly elected MP emphasized that Cumilla would be developed into a livable city strictly in accordance with his election manifesto. He also mentioned that BNP secured a significant victory in the district, similar to its 2001 performance.

Addressing party leaders and activists, he urged restraint and unity. “This victory belongs to people from all walks of life. No one should become overly enthusiastic or behave inappropriately with the opposition. We want to work together for the development of Cumilla,” he added.
