BSS journalist Motahar's mother passes away

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) - Mukula Begum, mother of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Staff Reporter Motahar Hossain, passed away this morning. She was 51.

Family members said she died of cardiac arrest after remaining on life support in the intensive care unit for a long time following injuries sustained in an accident.

She breathed her last at around 7 am today at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital.

She is survived by her only son, host of relatives and well-wishers.

Her namaz-e-janaza will be held today at Pasha village under Mohanganj upazila of Netrokona district. She will later be laid to rest at the family graveyard.

BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Mahbub Morshed expressed deep shock and sorrow at her death and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
