DHAKA, March 1, 2026 (BSS) - Huron Nahar Rashid, mother of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, MP, passed away in the early hours of today while undergoing treatment at a city hospital.

Huron Nahar Rashid breathed her last at Evercare Hospital in the capital in the early hours of today, said a ministry press release here. 

After completion of necessary formalities at Gulshan Azad Mosque, her body will be taken to Munnoo City in Manikganj.

She will be laid to eternal rest at the family graveyard in Manikganj beside the grave of her husband, former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Munnoo, following a namaz-e-janaza at Munnoo City. 

Family members and well-wishers prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and sought blessings for the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.
