DHAKA, Mar 01, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 77 suspected involved in various crimes in the city’s various areas.

“The DMP’s separate teams have carried out a day-long special operation under Jatrabari, Shyampur and Kadamtali police stations yesterday and arrested them,” a DMP statement said issued by its spokesman Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

It said that the arrestees have been produced before the court for further action, adding, “Such operations will be continued to maintain law and order situation in the areas.”

According to DMP statement, Jatrabari Police Station conducted a special operation in City Palli, Wasa Colony and Kutubkhali areas and arrested 47 suspected involved in drug, robbers and other crimes. 

Apart from this, Shyampur Police Station conducted a raid at IG Gate, Jurain Cemetery, Rail Gate areas and arrested 14 people. 

Kadamtali Police Station also carried another special drive at various areas of Dipti Goli, Pater Bagh, Jurain Bou Bazar, Nama Shyampur and Muradpur and arrested 16 people.
