Court orders seizure of tax records of ex-SP Rafikul, wife

DHAKA, March 02, 2026 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered the seizure of tax records of former Superintendent of Police (SP) Sheikh Rafikul Islam and his wife Farhana Rahman in connection with graft allegations.


Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).


The application stated that the ACC has filed a case against Farhana Rahman on charges of acquiring illegal assets worth Taka 39 lakh, while Sheikh Rafikul Islam has been accused of assisting his wife in amassing the wealth.


It also said that, in the interest of a fair investigation, it is necessary to seize their income tax records from the beginning up to the 2024–25 tax year.
