Mass march on Saturday to demand revival of Buriganga River

DHAKA, March 13, 2026 (BSS) - To mark the International River Day 2026, environmental organisation Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) will hold a mass march on Saturday demanding revival of the Buriganga River.

The mass march will begin at 11 am with an inauguration ceremony at the Buriganga riverbank adjacent to Basila Old Government Primary School near the Basila Bridge in the capital.

DHORA co-convener MS Siddiqui will chair the ceremony, while Dr Mujibur Rahman Howlader, former Chairman of the National River Protection Commission and DHORA advisory board member, will attend it as the chief guest.
