
DHAKA, March 15, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken responsibility for the treatment of Mohammad Jony, who was seriously injured in an accident while providing logistical support at a party rally in Tangail ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.
Family members of Mohammad Jony had already spent a large sum of money on his treatment.
However, after learning that the family could no longer bear the medical expenses, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman came forward to take responsibility for his treatment.
A delegation of Amra BNP Poribar, led by its Member Secretary Mokshedul Momin Mithun, visited Mohammad Jony in the Golapbagh adjacent area of the capital this afternoon.
During the visit, the delegation inquired about his physical condition and conveyed a message of sympathy from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
They also handed over financial assistance for his medical treatment on behalf of the Prime Minister.
Amra BNP Poribar members Masud Rana Liton, Shakil Ahmed and Rubel Amin; Human Rights Affairs Assistant Secretary of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh Dr. Aslamul Islam Rudra; former General Secretary of BUET Chhatra Dal Engineer Abu Hanif; Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal leader Imtiaz Setu and Dhaka College Chhatra Dal member Abdullah Al Misbah were present, among others, on the occasion.
Earlier, on January 31 this year, Mohammad Jony sustained serious injuries while working with decoration and microphone services at an election rally of Tarique Rahman in Tangail.
