SAVAR, April 2, 2026 (BSS) – Member of Parliament for Dhaka-2 constituency and former Vice President of DUCSU Aman Ullah Aman today said that farmers are the backbone of the nation.

“The administration under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been working to fulfill the electoral commitments of the BNP,” he said while inaugurating a programme for the distribution of seeds and fertilisers among farmers at Bhakurta and Tetuljhora unions under Savar upazila.

Aman said the BNP-led government is farmer-friendly. As part of its ongoing initiatives, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will introduce agricultural cards for farmers on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh.

The programme was organised by the Savar Upazila Agricultural Extension Department with the support of Bhakurta Union Parishad.

A total of 60 farmers from Tetuljhora and Bhakurta unions received 5 kg of Binadhan-21 paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertiliser and 10 kg of MOP fertiliser each.

Among others, Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Al Mamun and local BNP leaders and activists were present.
