DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today convicted and sentenced Jubo League leader MH Patwari Babu to two months’ imprisonment for making a derogatory post about the tribunal on his Facebook account.

The three-member ICT-1 bench, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Mazumder, passed the order in presence of the convict.

On April 8, the tribunal issued an arrest warrant against Babu following a prosecution plea, which stated that he had committed contempt of court by making derogatory posts targeting Tribunal Chairman Justice Golam Mortuza Mazumder, former law adviser Asif Nazrul, former chief prosecutor Tajul Islam, and Supreme Court lawyer Shishir Manir.

The tribunal also ordered the arrest of individuals who made contemptuous comments on the post and the seizure of their devices.
