Core committee reformulated to assess law and order situation, methods

DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - To assess the law and order situation and internal security issues of the country and taking necessary steps accordingly, the core committee has been reformulated with Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed as the president.

A notification signed by Home Ministry's deputy secretary (political wing-2) K M Yasir Arafat confirmed this information.

An officer of the rank of Additional Secretary (Political) of the Ministry of Home Affairs will be the member secretary of the committee.

The other members of the core committee are senior secretary or secretary of the home ministry, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director General (DG) of Special Security Force (SSF), DG of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence(DGFI), DG of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), DG of Ansar and VDP directorates, DG of National Security Intelligence(NSI), DG of National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), DG of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), DG of Bangladesh Coast Guard, Additional Inspector General (AIG) of police of Special Branch (SB), DMP commissioner, DG of fire service and civil defense, a representative of the Armed Forces Division at the level of brigadier general.
