DHAKA, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the seizure of the tax files of former state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid, his wife Sima Hamid and their son Zarif Hamid.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing three separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The petition said three separate cases were filed against Nasrul Hamid alias Nasrul Hamid Bipu, his wife Sima Hamid and son Zarif Hamid under section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, sections 4(2) and 4(3) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012, and section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
The ACC said seizure and review of all their income tax returns and related documents were essential for the sake of proper investigation of the cases.
