RAJSHAHI, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - This season’s mango harvest in Rajshahi’s orchards will begin on May 15 and guti variety mangoes can be brought to market from that day.

After that, the district administration has set a phased schedule for harvesting various popular and delicious mango varieties from the district.

The “Mango Calendar” was formally announced this afternoon at a meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam presided over the meeting. Mango growers, traders, and officials from the Agriculture Department were present.

At the meeting, it was announced that Gopalbhog can be marketed from May 22, Ranipasand and Lakshmanbhog from May 25, and Himsagar or Khirsapat from May 30.

In addition, Langra and Banana Mango can be harvested from June 10, and Amrapali and Fazli from June 15.

In the next phase, Bari Mango-4 can be picked from July 5, Ashwina from July 10, and Gourmoti from July 15.

Meanwhile, it was decided that Katimon and Bari Mango-11 varieties can be harvested throughout the year.

The meeting also stated that some guti mangoes ripen early. With approval from the Upazila Agriculture Officer, those mangoes can be harvested before the scheduled time.

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said that, like every year, the schedule has been set to prevent unripe mangoes from reaching the market and to ensure safe, quality mangoes for consumers.

He also warned that legal action will be taken against those who pick and market mangoes from trees before the scheduled time.
