Port Safety Week’ begins at Ctg Port

CHATTOGRAM, May 10, 2026 (BSS)- Port Safety Week-2026 kicked off today at Chattogram Port with theme 'Safe Port, Prosperous Country'.
 
Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah, acting chairman of the Port officially launched the programmes of the week by releasing balloons at the Port Building premises. 

The Port Safety Week aims to raise safety awareness among officers and workers, implement effective accident prevention measures, enhance emergency response capabilities, adhere to international safety standards, and promote environmental protection and resource conservation.

Following the inauguration, a rally was brought out with the participation of officers and employees of all level. 

Commodore Abdullah urged all to maintain the smooth and safe operations of the port to sustain the country's economic activities and ensure a prosperous port. He urged all to promote a safe environment by safeguarding lives, property, assets, and port equipment.
   
Marking the week instructions have been issued for the use of personal protective equipment based on individual responsibilities.

Safety briefings, drills, and workshops will be arranged throughout the week to equip participants with the necessary skills to respond to emergencies.
