109 held during anti-crime drives in Tejgaon, Mirpur

DHAKA, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a total of 109 people in separate drives conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in Tejgaon Division and Mirpur Model Thana areas over alleged involvement in various crimes.

According to police, the DMP Tejgaon Division arrested 65 suspects during regular raids in crime-prone areas on Saturday. 

Among them, 10 were held from Tejgaon Police Station, seven from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 14 from Mohammadpur, 16 from Adabor, 11 from Tejgaon Industrial Area and seven from Hatirjheel police station areas.

In a separate special drive, DMP Mirpur Model Police Station arrested 44 people from different crime-prone areas under its jurisdiction on the same day.

All the arrested persons were sent to the concerned courts, police said.
