CHATTOGRAM, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain today emphasized that strict measures will be taken against individuals who litter, encroach, or hinder cleanliness efforts.

He mentioned that the CCC's mobile court will carry out frequent operations and impose fines and other penalties in accordance with the law.

Dr. Shahadat Hossain made these remarks during discussions with relevant officials, local representatives, and residents following an inspection of the cleanup activities in Dewan Bazar and Jamal Khan wards of the city today.

Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain highlighted that the waterlogging issue in the city is exacerbated by littering and waste disposal in drains, hindering water flow and causing flooding even with light rainfall.

He emphasized that addressing this problem requires collective efforts from both the City Corporation and residents, stressing the importance of raising awareness.
The mayor called on city dwellers to carry out their responsibilities in maintaining a clean environment, emphasizing that a long-term solution to the waterlogging issue hinges on increased public awareness and coordinated actions.
