DHAKA, May 15, 2026 (BSS) – A cleanliness drive involving children and teenagers was organised by the Gulshan Society on Friday morning (today), to promote environmental awareness and build a cleaner city.

The drive, starting at 10:00 am, was conducted at the Lake Park and adjacent roads in Gulshan-2 area of the capital. Students from various educational institutions participated spontaneously in the event.

The event took on a festive atmosphere due to the involvement of children and teenagers, organisers said. Parents, teachers and local dignitaries were also present.

Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat said such drives play a crucial role in raising environmental awareness among children and teenagers, while also helping instil a sense of responsibility, self-reliance and patriotism.

He said children who participated in the cleanliness campaign became more conscious about proper waste disposal and maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.

Sadat also expressed hope that this kind of initiative would create a sense of responsibility among youths toward the state and the society.
