Tuku mourns death of farmer Kabir Hossain

DHAKA, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of farmer Kabir Hossain, who had received a farmer card from the Prime Minister.

Kabir Hossain, a resident of Tartia village under Gharinda union in Tangail Sadar upazila, died of a heart attack tonight.

Kabir Hossain gained widespread recognition by highlighting the life, struggles and potential of farmers through social media content.

In a condolence message, the State Minister said Kabir Hossain was a hardworking and self-respecting farmer.

He played an important role in portraying agriculture as a dignified profession for the younger generation and in presenting the realities of farmers' lives to the public, Tuku added.

The State Minister said the country has lost a dedicated farmer and a familiar face through his death.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers.
