
DHAKA, July 2, 2026 (BSS) – Biman Bangladesh Airlines has successfully concluded this year’s post-Hajj flight operations, ensuring the safe return of Bangladeshi pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
Manager (public relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Anand Synal told BSS today that the national flag carrier has successfully completed its Hajj flight operations for 2026 by transporting 70,935 Hajis, (pilgrims) through 220 dedicated and scheduled flights.
The state run airliner also brought back 2,208 Hajis from Saudi Arabia through its 12 scheduled flights, he added.
He said the national flag carrier operated 104 post-Hajj dedicated flights and transported 32,256 Hajis to Bangladesh from Saudi Arabia. Biman also carried 38,679 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in 98 pre-Hajj flights.
The Biman official said that it remains committed to ensuring safe, punctual, and quality passenger services throughout the Hajj return operations as part of its responsibilities as the national flag carrier.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines on May 30 launched its post-Hajj flight operations and welcomed returning Hajis from Saudi Arabia with flowers and holy Zamzam water at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The national flag carrier's first return Hajj flight, BG336, carrying pilgrims from Jeddah, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:35am on the day, marking the start of this year's post-Hajj flight operations.
Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Kaizer Sohel Ahmed welcomed the pilgrims at the airport.
