DMP files 1,463 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, July 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,463 cases for violating traffic rules in different parts of the capital during the last 24 hours till last evening.

According to a media and public relations division of the DMP, the traffic divisions conducted campaigns against traffic breakers till 6.00 pm on Wednesday. 

The DMP traffic police dumped 457 motor vehicles and towed 252 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on July 8, it said.

Of the cases, 81 filed under Ramna Zone while 143 filed under Lalbagh Zone, 98 filed under Motijheel Zone and 425 cases filed under Wari Zone, 144 filed 
under Tejgaon Zone, 201 filed under Mirpur Zone, 203 cases filed under Uttara Zone and 168 cases filed under Gulshan Zone.

The DMP's Traffic Division has vowed to continue drives to maintain discipline on the city's roads.
