DHAKA, July 09, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister's Political Adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said democratic forces must remain vigilant against defeated forces as the current government came to power after a long struggle, much bloodshed, extensive movements and sacrifices.

He made the remarks while talking to journalists at the party's central office in Nayapaltan this afternoon.

On the occasion of the Rath Yatra festival, Rizvi also instructed party leaders and activists to extend cooperation to members of the Hindu community.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the current government is working as a guardian of independence and sovereignty and also as a guardian of democracy. Therefore, many conspiracies and plots are being hatched against the government.

Mentioning that various defeated forces may engage in conspiracies to tarnish its image, he said that to prevent this, the party has already made everyone aware and instructed its leaders and activists, on behalf of the party chairman, to act like vigilant guard.

Party leaders and activists will work jointly with their Hindu brothers and sisters, he said, adding that this was not the first time, as similar responsibilities had been assigned to party leaders during Durga Puja for the last two years and all other religious programs of the Hindu community.

Rizvi said BNP had stood beside the Hindu community in their Puja and festivals as fellow citizens of the country and had taken measures to ensure their security. The party would similarly remain beside them during the Rath Yatra festival so that no one can create any provocation.

He said the entire nation is now united, including Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and other ethnic communities. They have understood who had attempted at different times to create divisions within the nation.

The presence of people from all communities during the last election and at various religious festivals has proved that no evil force can break the strong unity of the nation, he added.

The senior BNP leader said the Prime Minister is making relentless efforts to move the country forward on the path of overall development. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party will work in the same way.

He also called upon other democratic forces and political parties to work similarly.

Rizvi said the Prime Minister has been implementing programmes to ease the sufferings of ordinary and poor people. Family cards, farmer cards and health cards were distributed by the Prime Minister from the second or third day after the formation of the government, he added.

Through the canal excavation, Rizvi said, rivers and canals have been made more vibrant and lively. Water would be stored in canals during floods in the monsoon season and used for irrigation and fish cultivation during the dry season, he said.

For this reason, he said, the Prime Minister has been travelling day and night from one end of the country to the other end to complete the large programme initiated by his parents.

Referring to the school feeding programme, Rizvi said arrangements have been made to provide meal to 30 lakh primary school students in around 150 upazilas to ensure their nutrition and health security.

Among others, BNP’s Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Joint Publicity Secretary Asadul Karim Shaheen, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal Vice-President Zahidul Islam and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Vice-President Touhidur Rahman Awal were present.
