DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) Chief Coordinator of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP, has urged the party leaders and activists to practice positive politics instead of engaging in retaliation.

He made the appeal in a statement issued today in the wake of a situation arising from recent remarks made by the leaders of a political party in Pabna district.

Addressing the party workers, Shimul Biswas said, "Politics should be a place of people's love, trust and confidence. To be a true politician, one must understand the language of people's minds and eyes. One must also understand their expectations and give the highest priority to public welfare. Politics that wins people's hearts is far more powerful and enduring than strategies aimed at defeating the political opponents."

He said that ordinary people expect politicians to demonstrate humanity, honesty, wisdom, morality and ideals. "The defining qualities of a genuine political leader are patriotism, integrity and dedication to public service. People want politicians to lead honest lives and stand by the masses," he added.
Shimul Biswas also said, "Differences of opinion and criticism are natural in democratic politics. However, false information, disinformation and deliberate propaganda can never be the hallmark of healthy politics. History has repeatedly shown that truth ultimately prevails while misinformation is defeated. Therefore, no one should pay heed to propaganda or disinformation. Verifying the truth before reaching a conclusion is the responsibility of every conscious citizen."

Highlighting the growing importance of restraint, patience and wisdom in the current political environment, he said, "Rather than being influenced by the provocative remarks or motivated activities, it is better to assess the reality before making decisions. It is only natural that ill-intentioned individuals will deliberately create unnecessary controversy. A conscientious political worker must exercise sound judgment, including deciding when to protest and when to ignore such actions."

Expressing confidence in party leaders and activists, he said he expected them to make the right decisions as the responsible political workers.
