RANGAMATI, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin today said the government will remove disparities by ensuring balanced development in every upazila across the country.
He made the remarks after visiting flood-affected areas in the border upazila of Baghaichhari in Rangamati this afternoon.

He also said work has commenced to build modern land offices in every upazila across the country, which will be completed in phases.
He said the government would extend all-out assistance to the flood-affected hill families.
"Being elected by the people's votes means remaining one hundred percent accountable to them. As a party elected by the people's mandate, the BNP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has been working for the welfare of the people," he said.
"People will not have to ask for anything. Out of its sense of responsibility, the government is firmly committed to doing everything necessary for every upazila in the country," he added.
The state minister also said the government would attach special importance to achieving sustainable solutions and development.
He said the Prime Minister has already announced the construction of 100-bed health complexes in every upazila, and work has begun to implement the initiative.
Earlier, the state minister visited different flood-hit and damaged areas of the upazila, spoke with the affected people and later distributed relief materials among them.

Continuous rainfall and flash floods from the hills inundated 30 villages in Baghaichhari, the country's largest upazila. The floods damaged roads, culverts, cropland, fish enclosures and ponds, educational institutions and hundreds of dwelling houses.
Road communication between Baghaichhari and Khagrachhari has yet to return to normal.

The full extent of the damage became apparent after the floodwaters receded and the administration is working to restore the damaged infrastructure and normal public life.
